Hello all,
I have had my 1800 in the paint shop for six weeks getting a complete
color change back to a close to stock light green. The car runs
extremely well and has never had a problem starting. On Firday I went
by the shop to find that the car had been badly flooded by a shop boy
who thought you had to pump the petal for twenty minutes before
turning the key. I pulled the distributor cap and can see an arch
across the points. I then pulled the #1 spark plug and turned the
engine a bit. The plug was badly fouled with thick carbon deposits. I
did not see any fire across the plug, but the plug did smoke as if it
were fouled out. The shop manager said he would pull the plugs and
clean them. Today he says that the car will fire intermittently but
still will not start. I thought I would try new plugs first, but am
looking for other possible causes or things to look for. Also what is
the best plug to run in the B18B?? I want to try and get the best
heat range possible.
Thanks in advance
Oliver
