plus labor.
We just removed one Saturday and ordered a new one..this one we'd repaired several times over the last several years and it's time....
BTW, the OD wire insulation was severely deteriorated...insulation was paste and scraped off with fingernail, what wasn't already gone. Hard to believe it still worked!
On ours, the detent button/rod kept popping up, pow into the headliner...like a toaster! Replaced the cross/cross pin in the selector and it held for 6 months or so, but probably should have used a better material than a nail...like spring steel or drift pin material.
Taking out the selector assy is easy...disconnect the OD wire, disconnect the two linkage nuts (one is a stay rod, the other one actuates the transmission) and the rods, remove the four assembly mounting bolts, disconnect the electrical connectors to the gearshift assy, and the entire thing lifts right out. Then you can see what's loose and can maybe rebush it (you'll have to fabricate your own bushings in all likelihood) or repair it short of replacing the entire assembly.
