Poor acceleration when AC on 700 1992

I own a 1992 745 with 104K. When the engine idles for 5 or 10 minutes with the AC on, the car has very poor acceleration. I have my foot down to the floor and I receive very little "get up and go". Within a few second into the acceleration, it seem to clear up and accelerate to near normal. What's up and why does it do this. I have no problems when the AC is off.
