Clean the connectors? 740-760 90

ICQ>

There are at least two supposedly waterproof/gas tight connectors in the engine compartment, one on both sides for the front wheels and I haven't found the connector for the rear sensor (maybe it just reads off the speedo sensor in the rear diff...maybe I'll read the manual one of these days )

Anyway, my 90 740T got into the habit of doing the ABS light trick...until I got to it I would just put AT into neutral, kill and restart the engine (reboots the ABS computer).

I bled the system throughly, no change in ABS light problem (BTW, ABS won't work with the light on...reverts to std brakes).

Then I followed the sensor cables for front wheels through the wheel wells and into the engine bay to the first connector(s). Opened them up, sprayed with Wurth Contact OL (not a misspell...it really is OL onna can) which is some kind of oxidation solvent, and then touched the contacts with a very little dab of OxGard conductive sealant...some people like dielectric grease but I prefer the conductive stuff as long as I don't use too much and flood the entire connector and short the signal (bad karma, ABS light stays lit).

FWIW, the ABS light has stayed off for about 8 months so far.
