A bit of advice 200 88

Kirk-

My friend had the same thing happen to his '78 Cadillac. He wasn't home at the time it happened, but the police left a note. His car had been thrown 20 yards down the street. That's ALOT for a Caddy of that vintage!! Anyway, he gave some good advice on haggling with the insurance company or telephone company, or whoever. Remember to keep your cool. Don't yell at the insurance rep over the phone. They will be far less likely to work with you if you do this. They wanted to total his car, but he approached the whole conversation as a debate, keeping his cool the whole time. After 2 hrs. on the phone, the man gave him $2,000 for his Caddy. The insurance guy was very impressed that he wasn't quick to start swearing and hurling explitives at him. And for that reason, gave him more money than his car is worth. By the way, the Caddy is still very driveable, and amazingly just had the back bumper bashed in!! Good luck. Don't lose your cool!!!
