Never seen a broken wire 240-260 87

ICQ>

I have never seen a broken wire on an air mass meter, or at least one that broke on it's own. The ''burn off'' happens after shutdown, and only for 3? seconds. I suppose that if the thing were stuck in ''burn off' it could fry the wire. Not common in these parts, though. I'd look again. That wire is pretty thin. Sometimes you may think it's broken, but isn't.

It's always a good Idea to install the suspected bad unit on a known good running car for a ''parts change diagnosis'', but that can backfire too. It's the best Idea to consult the book for step by step troubleshooting, so you don't keep frying parts to find that you had a wire shorted to ground or whatever.
