My '90 behaved as Dave's ( and your's )did with the buggy #2 and the not wanting to clear . (I have the 561 I think, I've slept since then )

I replaced the main chip in the ECU as a maintnence precaution , and that eliminated the clearing problem, and improved a few other things as well .

I don't know which system you have so it may be different
