Ah HA! Euro spec'ed cars ARE geared higher. I suspected as much. Hmmmm. Maybe American spec cars should keep around 90 max? That seems to be where it feels comfortable.
I've personally always detested the gearing in US volvo's. It's just way too high. Cruising at 70 sounds like I have a lawnmower attached to a tornado (about 2900rpm, always *the* megavibration point in the B230F). I could care less about the off the line acceleration.
I don't know if 100mph is driver's license losing territory anymore in states like Wyoming or Arizona. It certainly was when we were all restricted to 55 (gag). Does anyone know?
