Good news: the switch pops out through prying. Bad news: the wires to the switch go down the shifter tube, requiring that you disconnect the wire and access the area on the shifter tube where the wire is inserted. This means taking out the center console and gaining access to the shifter innards. It may also mean that you have to unbolt the shifter and lift it up.
