Back-up lights 200 84

Noticed last night that my back-up lights have bitten the dust. No bulb-out indicator.

I haven't had time to investigate beyond rotating the fuse, which didn't help.

Does the switch on the tranny commonly go bad or get crudded up, or can I anticipate a long wiring nightmare?
