Front end alignment 700 1985

While trying to get front end alignment done on my 1985 GLE, prior to upgrading suspension, I was told that the camber was out about 2 degrees and I would need a longer radius rod. This was a well known local tire shop and I respect their opinion but.... in all my reading on brickboard I've never seen this mentioned. Anyone know anything about this?

Also, I was told that the wheels (14" alloy) were notorious for being easily bent. Does anyone know of any reasonable quality alloys for this car?
