Re: Front end alignment 700 1985

Camber can be adjusted by redrilling/bolting the strut...SIS in Rockville adjusted my 87 760T. Hard to understand why a radius rod that was OEM on your car should alluvasudden have to be longer. Sounds more to me like the strut bearing needs to be moved/adjusted at the tower. Does front tire wear support this diagnosis?

AFAIK, the 14" wheels are just as bad as the 15" and 16" wheels...they ALL get bent with potholes. However, the 14" wheels generally have 70 series rubber which cushions the rim much better than the 60-series on the 15" rims or the 55-series sidewalls on the 16" rims. Sooooo, NO, the 14" rims don't get bent as much in service as the 15" or 16" rims because of the cushioning effect of the larger sidewalls. So get the rims straightened...figure $80 or so per wheel. OTOH, maybe you can find straight 14" rims (I'd go directly to 16" rims and 205-55-VR16 rubber if I had to replace 4 wheels and a spare....)
