My Land Cruiser has a Gleason and my brand new Silverado has the factory GM 12 bolt. There is a major difference in a 'posi' and a 'limited slip'. There are very few posit tracs out there. Limited slip rearends are just that. They provide power to one wheel at all times. When that wheel starts to spin a series of clutches engages the other wheel until torque is released.
My point was, not all cars that have limited slip rearends will have both tires rotate in the same direction when suspended, and not all that have wheels rotate in opposite directions are open rearends. I have yet to find anyone that can give and conclusive data as to identifying a limited slip in a volvo without taking the cover off.
