Rene; Not sure if this is a 'match,' but on the 245 that I had before it was totalled and I got the present 745, it was possible for the clutch cable to be installed BACKWARDS; the 245 had been my ex's, and went thru 3 cables, in between tows to "Thieving Bastard Volvo Dealers, Inc.," of Northern Virginia for replacement. True to form, the very same mechanic who put the first one on wrong was allowed to put the next two on, as well. On try #4, a different mechanic at TBVI did the job, spotted the problem, took my ex.gov aside, told her the situation, promised to deny everything if she breathed a word of it. She was happy just to get out of there, finally, with a working clutch cable. After that, she stayed on the Maryland side of the Potomac, and let Clueless From Outer Space, Inc., do her work. Lucky me, I found a good, competent, honest Volvo-only ex-dealer-trained mech in Silver Spring (name supplied upon request; he is also listed under "[volvo shops]" on this site).
