abs question 700 1987

I have an 87 Bertone with of course abs. On backing out of my garage (regularly but not always) when applying the brake pedal the pedal "bumps" and a noise of a low pitched whir and clunk emanate from the right side trunk area. Is this the abs system "energizing" or resetting itself or WHAT? It does this only once, on the first backup of the day and never makes this sound when moving forward. Is this normal or do I have a problem? Otherwise the brakes seem to function well. Thanks. Steve
