Timing Question.... 200

The problem could be from a one-tooth error in the T-belt. Symptoms sound like those of a failed spark advance system. Look for a leak in the vacuum line that runs under the front of the engine over to the Ignition Control Unit.

BTW - I am assuming you have a post-1982 car, right??

PS - Checking the belt involves at least removing the timing gear cover, and that means a mess. Sorry.
