matt b nailed it. Just to clarify, the amp light has always glowed when I use the fan (when I had a gen., and now with my alt.,). Also dead batteries are caused by many things. I fyou had to jump start the car, then drove it awhile and the next time it started no problem, your charging is probably fine. Buy yourself a multimeter and all will be revealed.
