I'm happy to hear that you have a working cold weather starting procedure.

A certain amount of glowing AMP light is NORMAL! It just gets worse with additional corrosion as time goes on. Your dead bat was likely caused by short, low RPM drives which never really recharged the bat (the genny doesn't put out nearly as well as an alt at low RPM), although it wouldn't be the first time even a relatively new bat had a problem...I also suggest a specific gravity test...but otherwise...you KNOW what I recommend!

Although its been an age since I measured a genny equipped Amazon, but I expect your voltage to be somewhere around 13 volts when motor is reving (but this will vary quite a bit with a number of things (RPM, loads ON, battery state of charge, etc.). The system voltage mesured across the bat of an alt equipped car varies also (but less, since alt is so much more powerful, and at a wider RPM range), but will be above 13.5, under most conditions.

Sure, you could install an aftermarket fuseblock, but you could just go out and drive an Accord too! Once cleaned up, the oe fuseblock is perfectly adequite...
