Bob,

Hate to steal B.C.'s thunder, but, yeah, the 4 cylinder 240 has a cable-operated clutch. If your clutch is not disengaging, the cable is either way out of adjustment or needs to be replaced.

You said that in the original posting that it does not shift into the next gear. Can you elaborate?
