I certainly don't want to ruin the OD! I'll try a change to ATF tonight and see if that helps at all. But I suspect something is physically wrong with the transmission - 2nd and 4th are just absolutely perfect, and 1st and 3rd are absolutely non-existant. Not just weak but missing. But its certainlly worth trying an oil change before pulling it back out.
