volvo special tools, lisle strut tool

Lisle tool is useless if the top nut is aged and overtightened. I broke mine.

Volvo tools are ok, but pointless if you have air "gun".....people have also welded up there own tools.

With an air impact wrench the nut spins right off. No need to hold the strut shaft.

The center gland nut can be persuaded with large ass wrenches. I have a big round pair of vise grips that some length of pipe fits on. A drift and a hammer sometimes necessary for initial movement.
