Just did my first 240 turbo head gasket myself. It wasn't nearly as hard as I previously believed. It didn't even take very long, though I was lucky and none of the exhaust manifold bolts broke. No special tools are needed, though I'd recommend you do what I did and take the head to a machine shop for them to check it for cracks. They'll do that for cheap or free. If the head has invisible cracks, it may mimic blown head gasket symptoms after you went to all the trouble of reinstalling the head. Give yourself a whole day off and on, that should be plenty of time. I have to admit that 2 weeks later I'm still not done with my head gasket install, but I had to get a new head, disassemble everything on the old one, machine, clean, and lap the valves on the new one, then reinstall, plus the hour drive to get to the car on the rare days I have off to work on it. That and I'm lazy and have a poor attention span. Make sure you label everything you take off or even better put the bolts and studs back in their proper holes right after you take the manifolds off. Good luck with the project, and prepare cold beer for victory celebration afterwards.
