what does b230ft stand for?

Ok, I know taht b230Ft is the model of my engine... and I know that the 23 is for the 2.3lt engine and the T is for the Turbo... but whats the B and the 0 for?

and in other cases, like a hmmm... 850T.. there engine is B5234T I believe. So does that mean a 5 cyl, 2.3 lt, 4valve per cyl, turbo??? Just trying to decipher these names better.
