It's started! But there's still a problem... 200 1984

I saw a severe acceleration problem like you describe on a 81 torbo wagon. It was the main fuel pump. The pump ran but was going bad. This followed a period when the car had not been driven for a few months. I've noticed that the Bosch fuel pumps go bad when not the car is not driven for some time. With the engine idling, step out and listen for the fuel pump. If it sounds kinda loud or has a strained almost grinding sound, that may be it.
