SERENITY NOW -- The Plot Sickens 700 1985

I made up one of those LED test lights so I could see where my CO emissions were at and also cause I thought it would be fun to do. Anyway I hooked it up and the LED remained lit, could not get it to go off no matter how many times I turned the screw. Before I turned the AMM screw I put a dab of white-out on screw so I could count the turns and put it back to where it was if something went wrong. I went 5 turns in each direction and light would not go out. Does this mean I have a bad AMM?

Also as I was beginning to do the above procedure the motor suddendly went "spastic" and had trouble idling. I had not done anything yet as far as turning AMM screw. I raced around to different parts of motor pulling and tugging at wires but still idled rough. It had never idled like this before. I then got inside and just touched the ECU wire bundle and the idle smoothed out. So now I am thinking the ECU might be behind my acceleration problems so I take it out on the road again and this time I hook a wire to the ECU bundle so I can jiggle it a bit as I drive. Did not make any difference. Could not affect idle or accel problems at all. I inspected pins and all were shiny and bright, females were all tight(no jokes please).

What in the wide world of sports is going on here?
