"I use a 180 degree engine thermo and the stock Volvo late model (86 on) push in radiator fan switch (part number 1274962-8 or 1378504-3) that turns on at around 190 to 199 degrees and off at around 188 to 180 degrees."
What is the difference between part number 1274962-8 or 1378504-3?
I am using a 16-inch Hayden Electric fan; it does a great job at cooling the engine.
It turns out that once the car is completely warm it stays right at the noon position. The hair passed noon was just an example of parallax.
Why do you think that it is beneficial to place the fan switch on the cool side of the radiator and not the hot end?
