gearbox problem 74 164E 140-160

I recently took my 164 in for a service, when I got my car back the gears (BW35) were changing much latter than usual. I now have to rev each gear
out to about 3500rpm before it changes. I think they played around with the
kick-down cable or something like that.
Can some one give me some advice on how to change these settings so I dont have
thrash the car to get it to change.
