Anything tricky about changing shocks? 120-130 1966

Don't know if you've done this already, but if not...

You need a ball joint popper and a propane torch to get the spindle separated. Be VERY careful with the springs. First take the upper and lower shock absorber mounts off. Put a jack under the lower A-arm and then, once the ball joint has let go, lower the jack until the spring is fully extended. Then take it and the shock out. When reattaching the lower ball joint to the spindle, use the weight of the car to keep it still while turning the big nut. Use new split pins.

George Downs sells a great ball joint popper. You can find him on this list or in Bartlesville, OK if you're around there. I've used one of his at least a dozen times and am always happy with it.
