hot starting problem 120-130

The latest quirk with the B18 is a hot starting problem.

When its up to temp and I shut it down if I wait a minute or so and try to restart it won't. If I restart immediately or wait a half hour or so it starts no problem. Seems like its flooded in that it kind of halfheartedly tries to fire while cranking.

I've lowered the floats to 3/16" thinking that level was too high and flooding the jets but this hasn't solved the problem.

I solved the SU overflows by changing the washer stacks on the Grose valves. No overflows since. The thick washer that comes with them seemed to be the right one. However when I was installing the washer on the second float lid it "jumped" out of my hand and is gone. So I used two of the thin ones and it keeps the overflow from happening but the float tab did have to be bent more for adjustment.

I'm thinking that I may have a bad Grose valve. When I checked it with a Mighty Vac while the valve was installed in the float cover it did hold vacuum but bled down within fifteen seconds or so. I'm thinking that maybe the residual pressure in the line is bleeding past the valve and flooding the engine.

However I am open to suggestions.

I haven't tried a pressure regulator on the fuel line as of yet. I would like to verify the pressure in the line before I "solve" a problem that may not exist.

Hope to do as much troubleshooting as possible with this this weekend as well as install a Bosch electronic ignition setup I've had sitting on the parts shelf.

Also IPD is out of Colortune test plugs. Anyone have another source for them?

Thanks for your ideas.
