Question about spark plug gapping 200

I have a set of Bosch in my Volvo 242 with B21A carb engine and they work fine. I had the same plugs in my vintage Mercedes SL and they were not so good causing a rough idle only so I switched to standard Bosch plugs. I think that sticking to what was original to the car is best. I think that the main advantage of platinum plugs is the longevity not a hotter spark. If you plan on not changing the plugs for a long time since you bought platinums you might consider putting a light brushing of anti seizing grease on the plug threads so you can remove them when the time comes. I have found that NGK and Bosch plugs are almost always gapped very close to or spot on spec. Just my $.02 canadian.
