If you've done the bushes make sure the bolts are tightened with the car sitting in its driving position. If you tighten them with thre suspension dangling it makes them drive very strangely. The tracking, caster and camber at the front needs to be right. Every car I've seen imported from the States has had it played with, almost always inexpertly. I got a 122 Wagon with 4 degrees negative camber right, and 2 degrees positive the left. The handling was Ahem interesting.


I may get flamed for this but I honestly reckon bigger sway bars slow the cars down. They're more flattering to drive, feel more stable on a smooth road, but they're ultimately slower. You certainly shouldn't add them to try and mask a handling problem. Are the tyres OK, corect pressures, not 20 years old and wooden, or madly oversized.
