Try the junkyard. You might find a working speedo that you can salvage for parts. I bought an entire instrument cluster on ebay that included a broken speedo, but the damage was electrical, so now I have extra gears to use when (not if) mine breaks. The best part is that my bad speedo only shows ~75,000 miles, so the internals are in good shape.

I don't know of any source for new gears.
