creepy alignment discovery 120-130

While messing with the brakes I investigated a clunk coming from the front end.

I had replaced the upper and lower A-arm bushings, upper and lower ball joints, tie-rods and center link ends. Thought maybe something was loose as the clunk would appear only on potholes and such.

What I found was that the attachment bolts for the upper drivers A-arm were loose by about 3/16". I had taken the car to a tire shop and had it aligned after I had done the work. Apparently the tech forgot to bend down the locking tabs on the bolts.

A little spooky considering how bad that could have become if I wasn't so obsessive about tracking down every little noise a car makes. Made me think of the people that "drive and add gas when needed", could have been a bad scene.

In any case just a reminder to follow-up even professionsal work.
