B230FT head disassembly, any tips? Also spring compressor question.

I used a valve spring compressor for a water cooled VW engine. Why do you want to tear the head down? Are you worried about bent valves? You can check to bent valves by making sure the valve is shut(turn the cam, or maybe you want to remove it) and fill that port with gasoline. Watch the combustion chamber for leaks around the valve heads.
