that happened to me 700 1990

tht happened to me a few months ago. It wouldn't go all the way to the right or left. I can't remember how it was put together but I think that could be thet same problem with yours. I just took the assembly out and found that a jesus clip had come off of the vacuum switch thing. I can't remember exactly how I honkeyhitched it but I think it involved a short screw, a nut and a bench grinder. It wasn't too hard but required some creativity.
