another flame trap question :-( 700 1991

Beneath the flame trap is an oil breather box, which is a separation device to allow oil vapors to condense and drip into the crankcase. If this is plugged, it will also plug the flame trap. See the FAQ for complete instructions as to how to deal with these things.
