1) The alternator and perhaps the a/c compressor and p/s pump are mounted on rubber bushings. After lost of years the bushings collapse and put the pulley alignment out. Have a look. Install new bushings and see what happens.

2) You have checked the atf lever, right? If it's OK, maybe a fluid flush will help, but maybe not. A flush is a DIY job, I think it's in the 700/900FAQ
