In 99% of the cases the bearings are gummed up. In some of these the
motor has been left turned on until the windings burned, but if not,
it can be taken out and cleaned and oiled with MACHINE OIL, NOT penetrating
oil) and will be fine. (Lacquer thinner does a good job of removing the gummed
old lubricant.)
There is a guy in Canada who does a ball bearing conversion on these.
I think his name is Chebb.
