The commutator is burnt and worn down to the mica insulation.I will try the thinner and see if that frees it up at all. I think that this unit is in fact scrap. And I await a reply from Bill. I also have it written down that I have a 73 unit at a storage barn outside the city that I use. I have no time this week to go out and take a look but I will later. thanks
