useless knobs 700 1988

The useless knobs you speak of do pretty neat things! The one on the right is your dimmer knob, which dims your dash and related interior lighting.

The one on the left is to set the clock. You have to push in while turning, to engage the gear that links the knob to the clock. The gear that links the two is mounted on a plastic tit inside the gear housing behind the dash. It is entirely possible that this gear has long since broken off and will never engage the clock again.
