I guarantee you the timing belt is off. So many reports of "changed cam, now no low end power" or "changed belt, won't start/ won't run well" and more are due to timing belt installation errors involving one tooth.

If you want still more highway power get a VX3 or K and the car will really be happy at 4000 rpms and up.
