hard work! 700

First thing I would try is a "swirl remover", it's like rubbing compound, only lighter. (I like 3M's products) Start with the "wimpy-est" grit, if it doesn't work, go the next harshest, etc etc... no reason using meaner stuff than you have to, but if it look bad, rubbing compound isn't *that* scary... (Might try a spot on the underside of your trunklid or something if you've never used it before, rather than experimenting in a visible place...)
