I've put a Pertronix in my B20, and have similar results: rock steady timing and no regular adjustments. I am also concerned about the roadside breakdown scenario, but that is easily solved by carrying a set of contacts and the right length of wire in the spares kit. If I was doing a long rally, I might even think of carrying a complete spare dizzy, points installed and pregapped...but that's a bit anal retentive!
