Al, don't fret. There is always a fix. My board is demolished in that location as well.
Here's the fix. pull the dash again. look at what wires go to what location on the board. trace each electrical path along the plastic board to the screw terminals that are near the center of the dash. Crimp on some ring terminals or "horseshoe" terminal for lack of the proper term. Attach the leads on the screw terminals.
Reality: your board that is cracked feeds the main board with power, etc. the main board doesn't give a rats but where the power is connected to, as long as it is in the same path as the original.
I hope this makes sence. If I was any nicer, I would go out and rip off my dash and post a photo of the fix, so you know exactly what I am talking about.
