I believe that if you installed an aftermarket ignition amplifier, such as one made my MSD, then you could change your ignition timing. Note that if you used this approach, then your timing would be affected by the same amount at all times. What I mean is, if you wanted to add 2 degrees of advance, that 2 degrees would be added on at all times, idle, low RPM high load, high RPM high load, etc. That may be ok. One nice thing is that if you chose to do this, you could then have cockpit adjustable ignition timing.
