240 No acceleration/ Fault Code 200 1992

I think the ignition unit is on the firewall, kind of under the glove compartment. The FI computer should be the one on the side, yep.

Check out the procedures at 241-6 in the Bentley book. The socket 6 will give you the codes for the ignition, socket 2 will give you the codes for the FI.

If the ignition computer is not getting a load signal, and the wiring is ok, then maybe your AMM is fried. It would give similar symptoms to what you describe, I believe. Try this: with the key removed from the ignition, unplug the connector to the AMM. Now see how the car runs. Is there any change? With the AMM unplugged, the car should operate in the "limp-home" mode. Maybe it already is.
