140/164 front spring replacement. 140-160

I just recieved a set of sport springs for my 75 164 from kgtrimning. Is there a "best" way to tackle replacing the front set? Do I split the ball joint from the lower a-arm? or do I separate the lower a-arm from the cross member? I've never tried it before.
