Things are a bit shifty. 700 1989

sorry, its an aw7x series, I've been hanging around turbobricks too much :). Those guys run all sorts of things over there. My tire and rim sizes are all stock, but it seemed like the engine had some recent headwork done before I bought it. They probably didn't adjust the shift cable correctly. I've been playing with it, and it is within the ranges that you gave, so it seems to have been corrected. Before, the car felt very high-strung which was fun, but it would always shift around 4000-5000 rpm. It would scream and would give a nice jolt of acceleration at each shift point, but the shifting was sooo late, that it would take 10secs to hit 60. I think I'll play with it some more to try and get all of the jolt out of the shifting. I know volvo transmissions tend to be a little rough, but it is much smoother now. No more lurching forward.
