I have the Volvo factory manual for the 122, which uses the same drums.
It does not give a maximum ID.
I would say don't turn it if you can possibly avoid it. Roughness is not
really a problem, nor rivet marks. If the drum is worn inside but has a
lip at the edge that keeps you from getting the drum over the shoes, even
adjusted all the way in, then you might have the lip removed, but don't clean
up the friction surface. It is not necessary. New shoes will conform
pretty quickly. (You may have to adjust a time or 2)
