Starting problem 200 1990

Same thing with my car, I am startin to think that it might be the fuel check valve, that I believe is right at the fuel pump. It prevents the fuel from draining back into the tank, but when it goes bad, you have to crank the car a little bit longer, cause the pump has to prime the fuel lines again to get the pressure back up. REplace the check valve, which is like 10 bucks. I havn't done it to my car yet, since you have to like have an empty tank...DON'T DRIVE YOU CAR UNTIL THE CAR STOPS FROM LACK OF FUEL!!! It will damage the pumps. you need to either clamp off the tubing or drain the tank with a external pump.
